Original colour lithograph created for the opera La Figlia di Iorio, with music by Alberto Franchetti and libretto by Gabriele D’Annunzio. Designed by Adolfo De Carolis and printed in 1914 by Officine G. Ricordi & C., Milan, the composition reflects the flowing linearity and decorative richness of Italian Art Nouveau (Stile Liberty).
The dramatic red cloak set against golden wheat fields captures the lyrical and theatrical character of the production, combining Symbolist influence with distinctly Italian warmth and movement.
The opera premiered at La Scala, Milan in 1906 and became one of the most celebrated Italian operatic works of the early twentieth century.
Professionally framed with museum-grade Artglass AR70, providing enhanced clarity, UV protection and minimal reflection. Accompanied by a later-issued Certificate of Authenticity confirming the 1914 print date.
